Douglas + Son and Kawartha Dairy raise $ 7,805 for Bobcaygeon Food Bank

Last summer, two Bobcaygeon companies – Douglas + Son Vintage Mercantile and Kawartha Dairy – teamed up to launch a line of Kawartha Dairy branded hoodies and t-shirts, part of the sales supporting the Bobcaygeon Food Bank.
Kawartha Dairy is an iconic family dairy founded in Bobcaygeon in 1937 (celebrating its 85th anniversary this year). Douglas + Son is a custom clothing boutique in Bobcaygeon, established by Sacha and Bill Douglas in 2013, which designs clothing inspired by classic Nordic imagery printed on modern fit clothing.
In 2020, Kawartha Dairy asked Douglas + Son to design clothes as a holiday gift for Kawartha Dairy staff. The design proved to be so popular that the two companies decided to offer branded hoodies and t-shirts to the general public in 2021, with $ 5 of each item sold going to the Bobcaygeon Food Bank.

In December 2021, the two companies presented the food bank with a check for $ 7,805, representing 1,561 t-shirts and hoodies sold.
“There are so many people in need these days, especially in these incredibly difficult times and this time of year,” Bill and Ash wrote on their social media accounts in December. “It is a great honor for us to help. “
Douglas + Son and Kawartha Dairy t-shirts and hoodies are still available. You can order one by visiting the Douglas + Son website at douglasandson.ca or through their retail store at 68 Bolton Street in Bobcaygeon.
