Earth Day services in Warsaw begin Monday – InkFreeNews.com
WARSAW – A paper shredding event organized by the city of Warsaw is one of the many services offered this month in honor of Earth Day.
Borden Waste Away/Integra Shredding will be hosting a “Shredding Day” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, April 18 at the Public Works Department, 794 West Center St. City employees will load the papers into bins and Integra will shred the documents on site, according to a city press release.
Also starting Monday, the city will pick up piles of leaf yard waste on Residents Trash Day. Large piles of leaves can be raked up to the sidewalk or into the driveway. Small piles will need to be bagged or boxed and picked up on the day of your usual trash can.
Another event starting Monday is the free distribution of paper bags of lawn and leaves. City residents can pick up bags at the Public Works Department, located at 794 West Center Street. Residents (ID will be checked to verify addresses) are asked to pick up six packets of lawn bags and paper leaves to use for natural debris pick-up. Distribution hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The city also has a gift of wood chips from Monday. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday through April 23. The public is welcome to bring trailers, dump trucks, vans and/or small containers to West Center Street, just inside Boggs Industrial Park. Municipal employees will load the wood chips. These wood chips are brush grinds from earlier this year.
