Final Fantasy Origin will be exclusive to Epic Games on PC
During the Tokyo Game Show 2021, fans were eager to re-watch what might be the weirdest entry in the Final fantasy universe, Stranger From Heaven: Final Fantasy Origin. Unveiled in June, the title felt unfinished and choppy, although the potential was there – with Nioh-style fighting style and fantastic music, all it needed was a little more polish and shine. Fast forward, and the latest trailer gets us excited for the title’s release on March 18, 2022. (That, and the demo scene featuring a certain anguished hero blasting music in his headphones amid a very important conversation about the dark.) It is now confirmed that the title will be an Epic Games Store exclusive for PC gamers.
While it is possible that the game will eventually be available on other online stores, it is clear from Square Enix’s marketing that the Epic Games Store will have the exclusive rights to the title at launch. While a demo is currently available for the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S, PC gamers won’t have a chance to try it out, which seems odd given the circumstances. Anyway, for those who want to try a demo of the game that is much more aesthetic, the second demo is available until October 11. Multiplayer will also be available in this Final fantasy title, and it will be interesting to see what adding this ability brings to the experience.
In a recent interview with Famitsu, the game’s creative producer Tetsuya Nomura mentioned that the Final Fantasy I reimagining would include much more of Princess Sarah. His new design was featured extensively in the new trailer and was designed by Roberto Ferrari, who also worked on the character design for Final Fantasy VII remake.
Stranger From Heaven: Final Fantasy Origin releases on March 18, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store.
