Homefield Apparel Launches Cal Line and That’s All We’ve Ever Wanted – by Rob Hwang and Nick Kranz

Here’s something we’ve been hoping and waiting to see for a long time: Homefield Apparel has launched its Cal collection!

If you are not familiar with Homefield Apparel, this is a premium clothing brand that makes a point of delving into the history of each school’s logo and image collection to create cool designs.

Nick’s wife is already a happy Homefield customer, wearing some of her favorite designs as part of an elective class she teaches to encourage her students to continue their education by going to college, and she can attest to how comfortable Homefield Apparel makes its products.

And great news for YOU, Cal fan! Because you are reading this, you get a PROMO CODE from Homefield Apparel: New customers can use WRITEFORCAL for 15% off their order!

So now that you know what’s going on, let’s take a look at a bunch of shirts you’ll almost certainly see us wearing at Cal games in the future:

Don’t get me wrong, I love Oski and I love a good cartoon bear, but Ursus Arctos Californicus is a majestic beast and the whole world is indeed its territory.

Joe Roth Block C helmets will always be appreciated for emotional AND aesthetic reasons, and there is no better shirt to wear for the annual Joe Roth Memorial game.

A shirt in honor of Cal’s weirdest and darkest joy, Homefield Apparel was undoubtedly wise to focus on the “Wow Wow” part of the joy, but maybe if I demand it strong enough, they will follow it up with a ‘Whiskey Wee -Wee’ sequel later.

I actually think I prefer ‘Big C’ as a song to ‘Fight for California’, both musically and maybe just because you can scream a hearty Grr-ah in the middle.

You knew there was no way Homefield wouldn’t Something for The Play, and going with the details of the 1982 helmet (which honored Cal football’s 100th anniversary) is a smart touch.

I will never like to read the words on this shirt and not immediately hear Starkey’s precise volume, emphasis and cadence in my head.

Ahh, 1959. On January 1 of this wonderful year, Cal played at the Rose Bowl. Less than three months later, on March 21, Cal’s men’s basketball defeated West Virginia to claim the national title.

You know full well it’s cold after dark at Memorial Stadium when November rolls around, and what you need most is a warm hoodie with a gold bear, always watching. our rugged eastern foothills with our clear and bold symbol.

And when you hear the footsteps of the modest red Stanfurd, you’ll know what to do.

I know this shirt is more of a throwback and doesn’t explicitly honor the 2016 MB Bears who went undefeated at home, but I’m acting like it does. This bear is Jaylen Brown’s avatar obliterating Olaf Schaftenaar, then acting like he’s just played the most mundane game in basketball history.

So again in case you missed it! Because you are reading this, you get a PROMO CODE from Homefield Apparel: New customers can use WRITEFORCAL for 15% off their order!
