Law and Order: Man accused of detaining Oakfield woman against her will and strangling her
Wade Jared Murphy, 48, of Francher Road, Clarendon, is charged with: second degree strangulation; illegal imprisonment in the first degree; and third degree assault. At 5:35 p.m. on July 12, Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Sunset Parkway in the town of Oakfield with a reported physical altercation. After an investigation, Murphy was arrested. The parolee allegedly detained a woman against her will and strangled her. He was arraigned by Oakfield City Court and put in GC jail without bail. Murphy is scheduled to appear in GC court at a later, unspecified date. The case was handled by Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy Erik Andre, assisted by Deputy Nicholas Chamoun.
Matthew W. Ianiro, 26, from Le Roy, is charged with: driving while intoxicated; aggravated felony driving a motor vehicle without a license; dangerous driving; speeding more than 55 mph; operation in violation of a conditional license; alcohol consumption in a motor vehicle; and the consumption of cannabis in a motor vehicle. A complaint for trafficking led to Ianiro’s arrest on July 9 in the city of Warsaw. It is alleged that he forced other vehicles off the roadway. Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an improperly driving vehicle that had just entered Highway 19 in the town of Covington. MPs stopped the vehicle on Saltvale Road at Burke Hill Road in Warsaw. Following a traffic stop, Ianiro was found to be the operator and the sole occupant. He was also reportedly found to have opened bottles of alcohol and concentrated cannabis inside his vehicle and he was said to have shown signs of alcohol impairment. The driver also had a 2020 NYS conditional driver’s license that had been suspended for driving while impaired by alcohol. It is alleged that he performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody when his vehicle was towed from the scene. He was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for a chemical breath analysis. He was brought to justice in Warsaw City Court and his driving license was suspended. Ianiro was released on his own recognizance under the NYS Bail Reform. The accused is due to appear in court in Warsaw on July 26.
Parker E. Payton, 22, of Pavilion, was arrested on July 8 after a traffic stop on Wallace Road in the town of Covington for revoking a driver’s license. MPs familiar with Payton stopped him after watching him drive. He has two active revocations and two active suspensions, including one for a drug impaired driving conviction. Payton was arrested by the side of the road and issued an appearance ticket on the following counts: aggravated exploitation without a second degree license; unlicensed exploitation aggravated to the third degree; and unlicensed operation. Payton is due at Town of Covington Court on July 26.
