Leicester City fans say same as Legia Warsaw’s 85-year record tied
Leicester City are back in the Europa League this week as they take on Legia Warsaw at the King Power Stadium.
The second leg saw City lose 1-0 away, much to the delight of the Polish side, with City looking to raise the bar in the home game.
A win would put the fate of Brendan Rodgers’ side in their hands ahead of the competition’s final group game against Napoli in early December.
As City enter the game after a disappointing result against Chelsea, things are worse for visitors on Thursday.
Legia fell to a 3-2 loss to Zabrze on Sunday, a seventh consecutive league loss, tying the club’s all-time record since 1936.
The latest loss leaves Legia in 17th place out of 18 in the Polish Ekstraklasa, having collected nine points in her first 13 games of the season.
With their opponents unconfident, City will look to take advantage of it.
A Foxes victory could put them at the top of Group C, depending on the outcome of Napoli’s clash against Spartak Moscow on Wednesday.
While Legia’s form may seem like a good sign on paper, pessimistic City fans on social media have taken a different point of view, with the feeling that opponents’ form means an inevitable outcome.
Here’s what some had to say before the match …
Sam wainwright: Give them the 3 points now.
Maple foxes: Awaiting a @LegiaWarsawEN masterclass on Thursday!
Ben adams: I mean, it writes itself for Thursday night, right… #lcfc #AwayWin
Reece: We definitely lose 1-0.
Charlie carmichael: No pressure guys #LCFC
Jacob: Full time Leicester 0 – 1 Legia
Becky taylor: We all know what’s coming, don’t we?
