Lyrics platform Musixmatch partners with Gucci for 22,705-song fashion line
Italian-born lyrics provider Musixmatch has teamed up with clothing brand Gucci on a new clothing line, called 22,705.
The number 22,705 comes from a Musixmatch analysis of all songs where the brand is mentioned in the past 100 years. Gucci was mentioned in 22,705 songs.
Established in January 2010, more than 500,000 artists now manage their lyrics directly through Musixmatch, including Drake, Billie Eilish, The Rolling Stones, Dua Lipa, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift and more.
The platform is read by over 70 million unique users every month.
Musixmatch says it used its AI console to analyze the vocabulary of thousands of lyrics.
One of these analyzes is called “Entity Classification,” Musixmatch explains, returns all of the keywords used on a song, sorted by their categories and ranked by how often they are mentioned.
The company also mapped “Gucci’s musical journey” across genres.
“Jazz, Psychedelic, Japanese Punk, Disco, Hip Hop, Afrobeat: these genres serve as musical backdrops for a century-old journey that the Gucci brand has experienced through all facets of society,” writes Musixmatch in a blog post.
