Messe Frankfurt excludes exhibitors from Russia and Belarus
Messe Frankfurt says it has taken this decision in view of the dramatic situation in Ukraine and affirms that it applies to all countries of the Messe Frankfurt group which have adhered to the sanction measures.
In addition, Messe Frankfurt is also suspending all visitor marketing activities in Russia and Belarus.
In an announcement last week, Messe Frankfurt said its board had decided to suspend its events in Russia until further notice.
“The Russian invasion of Ukraine poses an unprecedented threat to peaceful coexistence in Europe. Messe Frankfurt supports all sanction measures taken by the federal government. In this context, the board of directors of Messe Frankfurt has decided to suspend the events of its subsidiary Messe Frankfurt RUS until further notice,” he said.
The move comes as fashion companies rally around the world to support Ukraine after Russia invaded the country on February 24.
Among the latest to act is British mother and baby retailer Mothercare, which has suspended all operations in Russia, including the dispatch of all products.
