SYRACUSE – Nancy D. “Diane” Shock, 92, of Syracuse, died at 3:28 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was born on January 2, 1930 in Goshen, to Charles E. and Florence Thelma (Geyer) Dietrick.
She graduated in 1948 from Syracuse High School and has been a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, except for 12 years in Florida. She was married on August 28, 1949, in Syracuse, to Robert E. “Bob” Shock who predeceased her on January 30, 2012. She retired in 1994 from Wawasee Community Schools as a cook at Wawasee High School and North Webster Elementary after 17 years.
She previously attended St. Andrews Methodist Church in Syracuse.
She is survived by an addaughter, Deborah (Gerald) Conner of Palmetto, Florida; two sons, John (Susan) Shock and Gregory (Sandra) Shock, both of Syracuse; likein law, Pete Hall of North Webster; 13 greats, 37 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, and abrother, Charles (Connie) Dietrick Jr., of Texas.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Nancy Jane Shock, a grandson, Daniel Shock, and a sister, Sandra Shock.
Cremation will take place at Kosciusko County Cremation Services, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Private funeral services will be held at McClintic Cemetery at a later date.
