Obituary of Joseph Rosch (1953 – 2021) – Albany, NY
Rosch, Joseph Patrick PORT ORANGE, Florida Joseph P. Rosch, 68, passed away peacefully, with his son and daughter by his side, at Halifax Hospice (Port Orange, Florida) on Sunday July 25, 2021. Born March 16, 1953, and raised in Albany by the late Ann and Frank J. Rosch III, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Gail (Gregory); former wife and mother of his children, Mary Theresa (Rosch); her children, Jennifer and Daniel; brothers, Raymond (Nancy), Michael (Judy), James (Jerri Lynn), William (Kathy), John (Kathleen); stepchildren, James Jr., Jaime (Robin) Floud; grandchildren: Gavin, Nikolai, Britton, Elizabeth, Dillon, Samantha, Brianna; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was also Sheila ‘Red’ Rosch’s godfather. Joe attended Cardinal McCloskey High School (71 ‘) and received a diploma in auto mechanics from Hudson Valley Community College (73’). He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 106. After graduation, Joe worked for his grandfather’s construction company, Rosch Brothers, Inc. Later he became an owner and operator of JP Rosch Excavating & Repairs and continued as a heavy machine. operator in Florida. After traveling to Florida for several years, Joe married Gail and eventually settled in Port Orange, Florida. Living near Daytona Int’l Speedway only fueled his passion for NASCAR. Joe’s friends knew him as “NASCAR Joe” or “Big Joe”. Joe has spent a lot of time at Lebanon Valley Speedway and attended many NASCAR events over the years. Some of Joe’s grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Peepa,” took many trips to Florida and between days at the beach had a lot of fun jumping on the beds and running around the house. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 5 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Polish American Citizens Club, 110 Commerce Avenue, Albany, NY 12206.
