LOS ANGELES – The CEO of a popular fashion company was apparently the target of an attempted robbery that led to a fatal shootout in the Hollywood Hills early Friday morning, sources say.
The CEO, along with his friend and security guard, arrived at his Hollywood Hills home above the Sunset Strip after an event around 1:30 a.m. when three men in an Audi got out of the vehicle and attempted to grab him. steal. Investigators believe the suspects had been following them for some time.

At one point during the attempted robbery, the suspects opened fire. The CEO’s bodyguard, who is a retired police officer, retaliated and hit two of the three suspects. The suspects then got into the Audi and left the scene.
Moments later, Los Angeles Police Department patrol officers spotted the suspects vehicle with a flat tire at the intersection of Doheny Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills. During the stop, officers discovered that two men were suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the suspects died at the scene and a second suspect was rushed to a local hospital in apparently critical condition. The third suspect has been taken into custody, Los Angeles police said.
As for the victims, the security officer involved in the shooting was taken to hospital. Officials said he was alert and was speaking with first responders. The CEO and his friend were also taken to a local hospital and their conditions were not disclosed.
The names of the victims and suspects were not disclosed by authorities.
The LAPD’s robbery and homicide division is leading the investigation.
