Peter Brown Obituary (2021) – Rensselaer, NY
Brown, Peter “Pete” RENSSELAER Peter “Pete” Brown, 63, passed away peacefully at his home on December 22, 2021 from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Warsaw, NY, to the late Earl “Pete” and Margaret (Harrison) Brown. Pete was a Rensselaer High School graduate and a soccer star. In his early years he was involved in the East Greenbush Little League and Pop Warner Football. Pete retired with over 30 years of service at NYSOGS as an HVAC Engineer. Before Alzheimer’s disease took his life, Pete enjoyed fishing, traveling, hiking, taking long walks, good food, and coffee. Despite his stubbornness and his sometimes cutting remarks, he was a generous and caring person. He was also a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was married to loving Theresa Brown, who also looked after him; and father of Jason and Jared Brown. He is also survived by his favorite sister and brother-in-law, Jackie (John) Leonard, and their children, Tara (Halacy) Campbell and Tanner Leonard. Handsome Pete was the third of eight children; her surviving siblings include brothers Mikal (Sheila), Patrick (Mary), Tim (Collene), Bobby, Matthew and Nathan (Nikki) and her sister, Kelly. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews on the brown side of the family. We are reassured to know that Pete is at peace and does not have Alzheimer’s disease. A special thank you to our family and friends for their support over the past few years. By honoring Pete’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions on behalf of Pete can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA, 22102; the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S.
