Polish pet food company receives funding for new products

A new Polish pet food and care company, Dr PetCare, received an investment of PLN 2 million (US $ 480,000) from Warsaw-based venture capital fund Arkley Brinc VC, supporting the producer’s plans to roll out a number of new products under its flagship brand Country & Nature.

Mariusz Wojciechowski, managing director of Dr PetCare, said the company’s premium pet foods and supplements are currently available in several pet stores across the country and through online retailers, as well as the company’s own online store. company line.

Launch of new pet foods

“Within six months, we started selling our products in over 300 stores,” Wojciechowski said. “We produce our pet food in Poland on the basis of unique recipes. We are now bringing wet dog food to the market and we have other products in the works, ”including puppy products. “Next year we will introduce snacks as well as cat food.

Dr PetCare claims that their pet foods and supplements are made with high quality ingredients and include over 65% animal ingredients that provide vitamins A, D3 and E, as well as iron, calcium, zinc and magnesium.

Dog food from the Polish company consists of turkey and lamb meat, as well as fish. Its dry pet foods marketed under the Country & Nature brand contain between 69% and 72% meat and fish ingredients, according to data released by Dr. PetCare.

Expansion projects abroad

Asked about the Polish company’s plans to expand overseas, Wojciechowski said Dr PetCare plans to launch export sales in 2022. The company’s efforts will focus on increasing its presence in various European markets.

“As far as Europe is concerned, some of the most interesting markets for us are the Scandinavian countries, the Balkans and countries like France,” he said.

However, before the company begins to expand its overseas presence, its focus remains on the Polish market, where Dr. PetCare aims to “build a wider distribution within major e-commerce pet stores, as well as pet stores. and our own store, ”Wojciechowski said.
