The Switch version of Redout 2 will now be released in July

There’s been another delay for the anticipated futuristic racer Redout 2, but luckily not for all versions of the game. The PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One editions are still scheduled to release on Thursday, June 16. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch players will have to wait a bit longer.
In a Redout 2 official game tweet account on Twitter, all systems left for a Thursday launch for most systems. Unfortunately, the Switch edition has been pushed back to July without a specific date. This follows a previous delay we reported on May 20, as the game was originally scheduled to launch on May 26.
While delays aren’t too uncommon in the gaming world, at least 34BigThings and Saber Interactive have been pretty candid in the process of getting this game out to the masses. Most fans looking to get their hands on the title will still be able to do so on Thursday.

The Nintendo Switch is probably the most different of all consoles when it comes to programming and coding. That’s a light guess, since I’m not a developer. However, there’s probably a bit of extra TLC needed to make it work properly on the partially portable system, and for that I can respect any company that delays a product to make sure it’s done right.
Expect the game to release on PC via Steam, PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S later this week. Nintendo Switch fans, see you in July!
