Donald Lee Hayes, 68 of Warsaw, IL died on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born on July 21, 1953 in Ft. Madison, IA the son of Richard Lee and Ina Melva Tory Hayes. Donald graduated from Fort Madison High School with the class of 1971 and later attended South Eastern Community College.

Donald was a United States Air Force veteran and proudly served our country as a military police officer.

On July 5, 1991, Donald married Linda Schrepfer. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Zach Hayes and Nick Hayes, both of Cedar Rapids, IA, two daughters, Angela Wieprecht (Rick) of Warsaw, IL and Amber Bucher (Shawn Eid) of Ft. Madison, IA, seven grand- children and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, George Hayes (April) of Ft. Madison, IA and a sister, Pam Hunold (Bill) of Denmark, IA.
His parents predeceased him.
Donald had been employed by H&H Mold and Tooling Company in Fairfield, IA as a tool and die pattern maker.
He was a member of Calvary Foursquare Church.
Donald loved woodworking and woodcarving and had been a member of the Wood Carvers Club for many years. He has made many prayer boxes and jewelry boxes for his family and friends over the years. Donald loved the outdoors and spent as much time as possible fishing. He especially loved taking his grandchildren and great-grandchildren fishing with him and teaching them all of his fishing skills.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with pastors Dan Davis and Larry Snyder officiating. Burial with military rites will take place at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA.
Visitation will be before the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home with a family reunion with friends at that time.
