A Lululemon employee was horrified to find a rack of new clothes covered in cobwebs – and swarming with what appeared to be a huge, living black widow spider.

Ellen Danz, season shipper for the Washington DC-area sportswear brand, was clearly disgusted when she discovered cobwebs all over black workout shirts on display at one of their stores recently. .

To make matters worse, the webs appeared to contain a bunch of small eggs.

Ellen began to investigate, scouring the merchandise to try to find out where it came from – it was then that she suddenly saw a giant spider moving across one of the peaks and let out a terrified scream.

The insect was all black with a red dot on its body, appearing to be a poisonous black widow spider.

Ellen recorded a video of it and uploaded it to TikTok where it quickly went viral, gaining over eight million views within days.

‘Can we talk about cobwebs that are literally… What’s going on? Does a spider… What? Oh lord, what is it? What is that?’ Ellen said in the video showing off the huge insect and its eggs.

In a follow-up clip, another employee could be seen taking the garment outside and shaking it until the spider fell off.

‘Please take off my shirt!’ she said as she continually tried to remove the arachnid.

Eventually it fell to the floor and she came back inside with the top on, saying, “That was so cool.”

It is unconfirmed what type of spider it was or what store the insect was found in, but many commentators believed that based on its coloring it was a black widow spider – which are the most venomous spiders in North America.

In the United States, black widow spiders are found primarily in the south and west, and they inhabit urban areas as well as forests, deserts, and grasslands, according to LiveScience.com.

“Black widow spiders often settle near where people live, weaving their webs in dark corners that can be inside or outside buildings,” he reported.

“Black widow spider venom is said to be 15 times stronger than that of a rattlesnake, but since spiders deliver much less venom than snakes, their bites – although painful – only pose a serious risk to the very young and very old. The bites of this spider very rarely lead to death.
